Dr.
Elstein is a board certified
solo gynecologist who has been
practicing in the Tidewater area
of Virginia since 1981. His
specialty interests include
menopause and hormone therapy,
as well as gynecologic surgery,
office care, uro-gynecology, and
teaching.
Dr.
Elstein did his undergraduate
work at the
University
of
Georgia
in
Athens,
Georgia,
where he earned a BS with a
major in biochemistry. He
received his MD degree from the
Medical College of Georgia in
Augusta
and did his residency training
in obstetrics and gynecology at
Eastern Virginia Graduate School
of Medicine in
Norfolk,
Virginia.
He
is a Fellow of the
American
College
of Obstetrics and Gynecology and
a member of and certified
menopause practitioner through
the North American Menopause
Society.
Dr.
Elstein is very active in his
community, lecturing on various
topics
related to women's
health, especially menopause.
However, his interests and
expertise extend beyond
traditional ob-gyn topics: he
has also lectured on the
spiritual aspects of menopause
and how life experiences
challenge patients physically,
emotionally, and spiritually. In
addition, Dr. Elstein is a
certified Conservative mohel,
performing ritual circumcision
for the Jewish community of
Virginia.
