We offer advanced
laser technology as an
effective, noninvasive option
for treating varicose and spider
veins. This treatment
selectively targets and
coagulates problem blood vessels
without affecting the
surrounding skin.
The pulse of
light from the laser may feel
similar to a rubber band being
snapped on the skin. Cold gel
is applied to the skin before
treatment and cold air is
applied during the treatment to
help prevent discomfort.
The desired
immediate effect is darkening of
the vessel due to blood
coagulation and redness and
swelling along the vessel. Cold
packs to the area following
treatment will reduce the
redness and swelling. The
vessel will gradually disappear
as the blood absorbs the
coagulated blood in the vessel.
If little change is noted in the
vessel, the laser setting can be
increased at the next
treatment. Treatments can be
repeated every 3-4 weeks and are
complete when satisfactory
results are achieved.
Following
treatment, trauma to the area
should be avoided for 5 days.
This includes massages and
aerobic exercise. Hot baths
should also be avoided.
